If there's something in the layout of the community that just isn't working for you (i.e. color, script, font size, etc.) go ahead and change it.

Does anyone want to invite Clyde and Alex to join us in our community endevor? I've been thinking for a while that they need to get onto lj, but I don't know how to contact them (and right now I just don't have the time either).

I haven't heard from Clyde yet. So maybe my myspace page is all in vain. Oh, well.

You mean Alex Brooks, right? I know you're drooling over Alex D's babyface in the monitor just like I am, but we have to control ourselves. We don't want to scare him off again.

I did mean Alex Brooks, but if Alex D. wanted to join he'd be welcome to. . .although, I think he might still be scared of us.

He wrote back to me. A long newsy email, very warm and kind, I think. He seems to remember us fondly. He's married and his wife is studying to be a surgeon and they have no kids yet. His mother passed away two years ago, from ovarian cancer.

Would you be willing to post the email to the community?

I would love to hear how he is doing.

I can't believe that I'm so sad that his mother died.

I'm sad too. She was so sweet and lost and concerned.

Here's the email from Alex.

Hello Laura,

I have not met another more eclectic person as yourself since the Ferndale
years, so of course I vividly remember you (and your attempt to seduce me in
the library). And yes, I do remember Rachel. You certainly have a good
memory regarding the "water" poem. I know I still have it somewhere in my
high school remembrances folder -- I'll try to find it for you.

Anyway, I'm sure a lot of information about me can be gleaned from my
website... moved from Ferndale in 1993... fininshed high school in the same
district I grew up in 1995... computer science grad in 1999... law school
grad in 2002... and practicing patent law in Pittsburgh, PA ever since.
With respect to more personal info; sadly, my mother, Frau Detschelt, passed
away two years ago of ovarian cancer. On a happier note, I got married this
past September. If you remember Brian Davis (now living in Las Vegas) from
your graduating class... he was one of my groomsmen. I have not been back
to Ferndale or Washington state, for that matter, since I left. However,
I've been to parts of Europe and Germany a few times since then. No kids
planned for a few more years since my wife is still in her surgical
residency program. The way I see it, we're just like the Huckstables,
except our careers are reversed and we're not black. Yes, I realize I have
to come up with a better comparison.

Alright, now it's your turn. How's life? Where are you now... both in terms
of your life and location? Did you get a chance to go your high school
reunion? Have you kept in touch with anyone besides Rachel? How has she

I don't think Clyde has been online much, if at all, for months. He sent me a message on myspace a few months ago, and I wrote back...but I never heard from him again. I'm wondering if he's suffering a lack of internet service for one reason or another.
